Bellbird Essentials started in the heart of my household kitchen at my family home in Bellbird Park, Queensland, Australia.
One day I was using cleaning products here at home that left me feeling like I needed oxygen to get through the job so I decided to look into low toxic natural ingredients I could use to make greener cleaning products.
Then remembering a time when my husband and I made a traditional batch of handmade soap that served as all our cleaning needs from personal hygiene through to household cleaning was my starting point.
When we made our first batch of soap we used the old school traditional ways by rendering animal fat and made lye from wood ash from our fireplace.
This first batch of handmade soap took us all day to make with 4 little children running around.
The end result was over a year's supply of washing powder, body soap, shampoo in a soap bar, dish washing, cleaning spray for benches, walls and floor cleaning.
I loved it but I felt it was impossible and impractical for me to maintain the production this way when I was working full time as well as running a busy household.
Fast forward 25 years - I started back to soap making after doing the research to find a simpler way to make soap that I can use for my everyday cleaning.
This lead me to experiment with different oils to develop qualities in a soap that was a little more refined to meet our family needs like the forever itchy bites from my children and grandchildren playing in the grass in our front yard along came the Aussie Tropical Calamine soap, then onto my adult sons needing something that works to remove the grease, grime and fuel smells from their Mechanic's hands - along came the Tradie soap.
Those same 4 children now with little ones of their own encouraged me to take my products to market because I was making more then we could use.
Bellbird Essentials was born - by taking my natural hand made essential oil based soaps to market .
At that very first market a customer approached me to make a natural product for their daughter's head lice issues.
Given all my soaps contain essential oils and no chemical based fragrances he thought I'd be able to develop a product that was more economical and better for his daughter as they couldn't seem to break the cycle of head lice with the shop bought treatments.
Instantly I wanted to help as I could relate to the same issues when my children were young and we faced the same problems.
Researching into natural ingredients and essential oil that could work together to meet customer needs started the journey of Bellbird Essentials to evolve into something so much more than natural handmade soap and green cleaning products.
I discovered trying to meet customer needs with natural products for a natural wellness journey really is my passion.
This has lead me to become a Certified Essential Oil Coach and I'm currently working towards a Diploma in Organic Cosmetic Formulation and a Diploma in Functional Nutrition.
Helping you achieve natural wellness outcomes with the Purity of Nature's ingredients is my motivation and the basis for all my products.
I source local ingredients and suppliers as much as possible.
I feel blessed by God to be able to work with these amazing ingredients He has provided to us to meet our needs and the wonderful suppliers who are always helpful and willing to go the extra mile with me.

Please note: Most of my soaps contain sustainably sourced Palm Oil which makes an awesome harder soap with a creamy lather that doesn't impact Orangutan habitat.

I source the best quality raw ingredients & essential oils possible to provide quality products for your family.

You can back order products if you wish. All soaps take 4-6wks to cure so you may have to wait a little while to receive them if they are not in stock. I will contact you via email to discuss any delays.
